Welcome!

Welcome to the Punk zone. There is nothing wrong with your monitor. Do not attempt to close your browser. We are taking over your machine....

Go ahead, adjust your spectacles, don your top hats, and free your bandwith...

Who are we?
We're three writers who decided to put together a blog to spread our love for the punk genres by creating a resource for writers and readers. There will be writing tips, genre info, novel reviews, book features...

What's a punk genre?
Don't any of you dare jump on Wiki! It won't even begin to cover the vast awesomeness of punk lit.

So, it's anything with punk in it (duh!), steampunk, dieselpunk, cyberpunk, nanopunk, decopunk, splatterpunk (yes there is such a thing)...SO MANY PUNKS...

You don't know what those are?
Well that's a good reason to stay jacked in because that's the whole goal of this blog. Who knows, you may ditch the real world and decide to live in one those punk worlds, just like we have :)

 Meet the Punks:

Name: Stephanie
Genres: Science-fiction/Cyberpunk/Biopunk
Location: Louisiana
I write... cyberpunk and biopunk because I love to imagine the next step in human evolution. And I get to have a ton of fun with all kinds of body parts.

Name: Cate
Genres: Science-fiction/Fantasy/Steampunk
Location: Eastern Kentucky
I write...steampunk because it blends the best parts of science-fiction and history. I have an obsession with all things Victorian, especially the late 1880s and the Jack the Ripper case. Writing steampunk allows me to explore that time period while throwing in technology. Plus, hey, the wardrobe kicks ass.

Name: Misa Buckley
Genres: Sci Fi, Romance, Paranormal Romance, Steampunk
Location: United Kingdom
I write... steampunk because I love historical settings but still want a slice of weird. Plus, steam trains are cool.

Our Mission Statement:

Never give up, never surrender....no, wrong one....huh, PUNK FOREVER.... our CPUs will figure it out eventually.

  1. So excited for the blog to be launched! I'm looking forward to more info about the subgenres and what others are writing. One of my novels is steampunk and I completely agree with Cate about the wardrobe! ;)

  3. And having now seen the question in the comment - I write scifi because it's out of this world.

Don't forget: we're also on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ThePenPunks. Give us a "like" to keep up with our punks and what we're into.

    Thanks again!

  5. I'm not a writer per se, but I occasionally post up a piece critiquing various sci-fi and/or fantasy films and books, or a review here and there. I don't have the writing chops to put together a novel, but I can discuss implausibilities and plot holes at length at the drop of a hat.

  6. Thanks for running the giveaway! Best of luck with your blog!

  7. Good luck with the blog, and thanks for the giveaway! I'm actually not a steampunk, cyberpunk etc writer. I write women's fiction, and I write about angels, sometimes in the same manuscript.

  8. Okay, ignore the other comment because I can't read. I write... whatever floats my boat at the moment. Usually some form of fantasy.

  9. What do I write? Primarily I'm in the erotica section of things. Erotica or romance depending on the imprint. I go back and forth between GLBT themes and Het (again, depending on the imprint). As for 'genre' I'll do anything from fantasy to contemporary.

  12. I don't write as much fiction as I used to, but I tend to lean toward sci-fi/horror. Lately I've been on something of a post-apocalyptic kick.
